This was investigated and it was found that the seller company (who was also certified by the same CB) had altered and counterfeited [GOTS](https://global-standards.org/resources/glossary/gots "<p>The worldwide leading voluntary sustainability standard for the post-harvest textile value chain for certified organic fibres, covering environmental criteria, human rights, social criteria and business conduct.</p>") TCs. This company was suspended and the certification withdrawn following due process.

The CB thereafter recommended a certification ban due to fraudulent behaviour.

The Global [Standard](https://global-standards.org/resources/glossary/standard "<p>standard glossary text</p>") management after studying recommendation imposed a certification ban on the company for a period of 2 years.
