# GRTS - How the programme works

GRTS (Global Responsible Textile Standard) applies one consistent programme across the entire textile production process.

It covers all stages after raw fibre production, including processing, manufacturing and trading, ensuring that every step meets strict environmental and social criteria and is verified through independent certification.

For a product to carry the GRTS label, every company in the supply chain must be certified.

## The GRTS certification process ensures that:

- Every processing stage is certified
- Every company in the supply chain is audited
- Every product transaction is documented and verified

The result is a consistent, traceable and verified programme from fibre to finished product.

## Scale and global implementation

GRTS is built on the existing Global Standards certification infrastructure:

- 26 approved Certification Bodies
- Implementation experience across global textile supply chains
- Established traceability and transaction verification systems
- Alignment with existing GOTS certification processes

The standard is designed for rapid global implementation across multiple responsible fibre categories.
