Term	Definition
On-Product Application of GOTS Signs	GOTS Signs applied on GOTS Goods in such a way that it is visible to the buyer / consignee in the textile supply chain and to the end consumer at the time of purchase (e.g. packaging material, hangtag and/or a (care) label).
Organic	'Organic' is a regulated term used to distinguish systems of managed production and products derived therefrom that adhere to principles of health, ecology, fairness and care, and which are certified compliant to an organic standard's regulations by an Approved Certification Body. GOTS defines organic textiles as being made with fibres from organic agriculture systems that are certified to one of the IFOAM Family of Standards, and that are processed in socially and ecologically responsible ways, in alignment with organic principles.

Organic in-conversion	A product from an operation or portion thereof which has completed at least 12 months under organic management and is under the supervision of an Approved Certifier.
Permanent AOX	AOX is permanent if it is permanently bound to the molecule (e.g. in the chromophore of a dyestuff or pigment) and cannot get hydrolysed or released during textile processing instead remains on textiles.
Positive List	GOTS Positive List contains GOTS-compliant chemical products which are evaluated and approved by GOTS approved chemical auditors. The List provides trade names of the chemicals and immediate access to all chemical Inputs which are allowed to use GOTS products.
Post-consumer Waste	Material generated by households or by commercial, industrial and institutional facilities in their role as end-users of the product that can no longer be used for its intended purpose.
Post-industrial Waste	Material diverted throughout the manufacturing processes.
Pre-consumer Waste	Additionally, unsold products at retail should be considered as pre-consumer waste as they have not reached consumer use stage.
Preparations	Mixtures or solutions composed of two or more Substances.
Primary Packaging	Packaging that accompanies the product to the retailer or end consumer as part of the sales unit.
Processor	An entity in the processing chain (post-harvest handling up to finishing) of GOTS Goods.
Product Detail Page	A page in e-commerce that provides detailed information about a specific product, including descriptions, images, pricing, and a 'Buy Now' or 'Add to Cart' option.
Product Listing Page	A page in e-commerce that displays a collection of products within a specific category or search results, helping users browse and filter options to find what they’re looking for.
Product Marking	GOTS Signs applied to GOTS Goods presented in catalogues, on web pages, on advertisements or other publications (e.g. by marketplaces, sales platforms or mail order companies).
